My New Comic Alpha Bound 1-6

I mentioned last week I was writing a new comic for a class. It's called Alpha Bound. These are the first 6 strips. They are newspaper size. I am seriously considering submitting them for syndication after I get out of school.

We were supposed to write them as if it had already been running for a year. So I should fill you guys in on the premise. It's about a spaceship full of space colonists bound for Alpha Centauri, our closest neighboring star system. They are all in a cold sleep until the ship arrives. But a malfunction causes the main character, Cal, to wake up 50 years early! His only companion is the maintainence AI robot Circon 1. Hope you enjoy.

JUST FOR THE RECORD, THIS TOTALLY MAKES UP FOR ALL THE NAPKINZ I SKIPPED OR POSTED LATE. SO SHUT UP.

Here are some of the other titles I played around with when I was going to switch the name of the comic. No worries though, it will forever remain Napkinz.

More Blizzard concept art

Here is a whole bunch more concept art I've done for Blizzard. I'll add some more later.

Blizzard Entertainment Concept Art

Despite what my webcomic may suggest I can actually draw. This is an example of some of the artwork I've been doing over the past couple of months for my application to Blizzard Entertainment as a concept art intern. Those of you familiar with the starcraft game might recognize this figure as a Marauder. Albeit my interpretation of it.

This actually happened last year, but it is just so blog worthy I must begin with it. So anyone who knows a thing about web comics, or comics in general should know the name Scott McCloud. If not than shame on you. He is a big influence of mine, and wrote what is in my opinion the best book series on comic creation and comic theory. He spoke at my school last year, and I was able to get him to sign my copies of his first two books
UNDERSTANDING COMICS and REINVENTING COMICS. If you have an interest in comic strips (if you read this blog than I assume you do) pick up these books. They are not much and are quick reads. (They are comic books themselves).

The Birth of the NapkinzBlog

The Napkinz Blog is born by the power of ME!
This is not a picture of me. This is God. Just wanted to clear that up.
I thought it was a good interpretation of creation.
Anyway, this is the first post. May there be many more in years to come.
